Lance admitted to doping yesterday in an interview with Oprah.  Here’s an outtake – I haven’t watched the whole thing yet.

Alright, it’s as finished as it gets.  With Newbaums light blue cloth tape and mud flaps by Tarik at Leatherworks, dyno lights front and rear, Fred’s permanently acquired Berthoud saddle, a new VO setback seatpost, Soma Hwy-One bars, SRAM 500 brake levers and – my favorite part – a Wald basket attached to a cheap no-name alum rack that looks better than it has any right to.  I give you Neo Grumpy, Grumpy II, Live Free and Die Grumpy, The Grupeggedeon, The Grumpygeddowatch, Grumperrillerion, The Get Screwed Hippie and Get Off My Lawn Too, The Give Me Wool or Give Me Death; This bike requires you posses no less than 7 copies of BQ and snear appropriately when you so much as mention Jan Heiney’s name.  Complete with clamp adapter and interrupter levers to tick off ERRYONE (esp Tarck bros – you know who you are) I give you, Grumpy.

Would it be too much to hope to find a cyclocross bike with say, 70~75mm of bottom bracket drop?  Maybe lower?  You don’t have to deliver the bike frame, just deliver the link.  Extra bonus points if it has disc tabs.

It’s like I’m not even trying anymore.

I realize now I will never be able to justify owning a fatbike, and I think I’m learning to be okay with that.  But I still love the shots of them.

UPDATE: Reddit provides and then Reddit backfills.  This pic is part of a larger set posted on the Methow Valley Sports Trails Association Facebook page.  Apparently they have opened some of the skiing trails to fat bikes and then rents the bikes.  I don’t know the feasibility of it but am looking into what it may take to coordinate a weekend out there – it’s not that far from us.

As an aside – I can’t believe how much snow is out there already.  That is crazy.
