Elegant disc

Alex has been doing high quality frame building for awhile – I think most would put him in the advanced amateur category in that he’s very talented, though he does not do it professionally or for profit.

One of the great things about Alex is – as his blog title suggests – Alex is always busy with something.  Generally speaking I’ve found it’s something clever or interesting.  Sometimes both, as here is the case.  Here, he’s just finished building this very beautiful fork for his grocery-getter porteur bike:

The long curved dropout with integrated disc brake mount he fabricated on a small CNC machine in his basement.

Swoon.

Boy, I wish I had the facilities to do this level of work – both personal and material.  Until then, I suppose I will live vicariously through those who do.

Onward
