This years 15th annual Dead Baby Down Hill race was excellent as usual. Hosted by the Dead Baby Bicycle Club and the Church of the Bicycle Jesus, the race started at the Shipwreck Tavern in West Seattle and had us bomb Admiral way and into Georgetown via the industrial train yards. The track crossings in the train yards ain’t no joke. Those things murdered tires and wheels alike. One second I’d be talking to someone, next minute we’d cross tracks and BOOM!!!! pshshhshsshhs FUCK! and out would be another racer. In the video below, on the left there’s a pic of a guy who’d given up trying to fix his flat and was simply riding on it. Oof. All in all though spirits were high and everyone had a good time. This whole thing is good for us as a community.
Towards the end of the night the tall-bike jousting began. As a club we did pretty well – Joe, TicToc and Paul all made it into the final rounds and did us proud as a club.
Anyhow, pictures are worth a thousand words. GO LOOK.
The beer was free, the music was good, the company excellent. Hard to complain. Thank you Dead Babys for putting on another fantastic party. See you next year.
