Haven’t done it, but for Tory and a couple others who’ve mentioned it – this is what it would look like more or less.
I’m not riding bikes enough right now. Gah.
Grumpy hasn’t been doing so well on the docks of Shilshole Marina where I live. Two weeks in the salty winter wind/rains here in the Pacific Northwest made short work of my 2-part epoxy topcoat. Man, what a bummer. Disassembled it two days ago and dropped it off to get powder coated today (almost the identical color I hope). Hopefully I can put it back on the road in short order here.
Until then – I had to put raceblades on the Paramount.
More pics behind the cut, but you get the idea.
Laugh if you like, but these have become standard issue winter riding wet-weather gear for me. They cost $3 and work great. They even fit inside my normal bike gloves if need be.
Be sure to get the flock lined ones – otherwise you won’t be able to get your already damp and cold hands into them.
Two years ago we did a ride to Bellingham in November. We left at 6am – at 6:15 it started raining and didn’t stop for 13 hours. We were completely drenched. In Mount Vernon I grabbed a pair of these since everything else I had was soaked through – was impossible to get warm. Best $3 I spent that day.
